About the Authors
Patricia Richardson Logie
The Artist of the paintings called Chronicles of Pride, she toured throughout British Columbia with the thirty-one portraits, and wrote a book about the people who make up the collection. Her experiences led to the production of a video to accompany the paintings and book to celebrate the contributions of First Nations peoples and their Cultures.
Lila Burdett Kilroy
Lila began working in Native Indian Education in the public school system in Merritt, British Columbia. Many of her students were relatives from the Shulus Reserve. She lived with and taught First Nations peoples in British Columbia and in Saskatchewan. Her experience spans preschool to adult education and includes teaching in public schools, as well as schools on reserves.
Valerie Overgaard
Valerie has held several positions in the area of curriculum, including Research Coordinator for the Curriculum Branch of the British Columbia Ministry of Education, Senior Researcher and Writer for the Royal Commission on Education in British Columbia, and Curriculum Development Specialist for the Vancouver School Board. She is the Author of several educational publications, among them A Handbook for Curriculum Development.
